When you think of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation, what comes to mind? Perhaps it is the smiles of campers arriving for a week of new experiences, the gift of clearer vision made possible through recycled eyeglasses, or the many ways Lions throughout Wisconsin serve our communities.
Behind every one of these experiences is something that often goes unnoticed: the property, buildings, and essential systems that make our work possible.
Here at the Wisconsin Lions Foundation, we care for 440 acres of property and more than 40 buildings. Each year, roofs need attention, heating and cooling systems require maintenance, water heaters and plumbing fixtures need repair or replacement, and countless other needs arise. These are not always the most visible parts of our mission, but they are essential to keeping our facilities ready to serve.
Caring for our property is about more than maintaining buildings. It is about protecting the mission those buildings support.
Every building we maintain helps create opportunities for people to learn, grow, connect, and receive services. Each investment in our property helps us preserve the resources that generations of Lions and generous supporters have worked hard to establish over the past 70 years.
That responsibility does not end when one project is completed or one Camp season comes to a close. It is an ongoing commitment to caring for what we have today so the Wisconsin Lions Foundation can continue serving tomorrow.
